A breath of fresh air in Stockholm

This space in Stockholm by Folkhem is like a breath of fresh air. I love the light coloured wood together with the white and shades of grey.

I love the Scandinavian furniture they've chosen including the fab Under the Bell Pendant light (last picture) and the Around Coffee Table, both by Muuto. Using a Vitra DCW chair (15% off with code MYSCAN) in the sitting room is never wrong either!

If it were my home I'd have to add a few more pieces and mess it all up a little but the bones are definitely there. What do you say?

A fab black and white home in South Sweden

One of the best things about being on vacation (apart from the sand time of course :) is that when I get back the blogosphere is teeming with fabulous homes I've missed! Sorry if you've seen this one before but it's way to fabulous to miss! It's the home of stylist Sofia Odier and her photographer husband Nils Odier here in Southern Sweden. Loving the country and modern mix in monochrome and that oh so comfy indoor hammock!

Photographer: Pia Ullin with kind permission, Stylist Lotta Agaton for Residence magazine

I love all the vignettes with bell jars, apothecary bottles, fig trees etc and of course the wishbone chairs (currently on sale here)! I'll never tire of an eclectic mix of chairs around a dining table either and currently have my eye on the Thonet 214 chair to add to my mix.

I also absolutely love the edgy photography. Does anyone have any tips on where to buy cool photogaphy online?

Finnish home with vintage finds

I promised to blog yesterday but we were on Anholt, a tiny, very beautiful Danish island with no internet access. So here is a rare weekend post from me to say hello and share a few pictures from the oh so beautiful and cool home of Finnish textile couple Sanna ja Olli.

The peek into their kitchen gives a sense of a relaxed, cosy home full of vintage finds.

The wooden cups next to the oven remind me of a dog sledding trip I once did in Lapland. After a few hours of silently racing over frozen lakes and fields we stopped to rest the dogs and our guide made us hot chocolate over a fire which he served in cups like these. So memorable! Have you ever been dog sledding?

For a complete house tour check out the latest copy of Deko Magazine.

Have a lovely weekend and see you Monday!
